In this document we provide you with information on terms and conditions for the use of our free digital content, particularly photos and images.

License for use of Photos/Images

Dexines grants you an irrevocable, nonexclusive, worldwide copyright license to download, copy, modify, distribute, perform, and use photos from Dexines for free, including for commercial purposes, without permission from or attributing the photographer or Dexines. This license does not include the right to compile photos from Dexines to replicate a similar or competing service.

Dexines photos are made to be used freely. Our license reflects the following:

What is Permitted

All photos can be downloaded and used for free
Commercial and non-commercial purposes
No permission needed (though attribution is appreciated!) – Learn How to Attribute

What is Not Permitted

Photos cannot be sold without significant modification.
Compiling photos from Dexines to replicate a similar or competing service.

Even though attribution isn’t required, Dexines photographers appreciate it as it provides exposure to their work and encourages us to continue adding more original photographic content to our freebies.

Use of Images as Reference for Artwork

Our photos and images can be used as a reference for illustrations and paintings. These new works of art can be sold independently, as long as they were not created by automated means.

Trademarks & Copyrights

Certain limitations still apply to the use of these images or digital content. Certain laws can still define the usage of the photos and images, such as trademark, copyright and privacy rights. While you can download these images for both commercial and personal use; trademarks and copyright infringement must remain a consideration. All photos that contains a brand, trademark or people’s faces in them have the additional aspect of trademark, copyright and privacy infringement.

Trademarks/Brands:

If a photo has a brand or trademark in it, you can use the photos for personal use (e.g. printing the photo to hang on your wall), but when using the photo for commercial use, it’s important not to insinuate that the brand / trademark is endorsing or taking part of the project/concept/product/service that you are advertising.

Faces:

Photos that have people’s faces that are recognizable in the photos can be used for personal use and commercial use (as long the photo isn’t endorsing any negativity that could harm that person). However, photos that have celebrities in it would not be recommended for commercial use, since typically celebrities have additional privacy rights that don’t allow any company to profit off of their image. However, in both cases, these photos can be used for personal use.
